StartUp Britain is a campaign founded by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs. And since the launch of the campaign in 2011 – which has government support – there has been a whole range of seminars, events, workshops and even a summer roadshow tour.
BT Business, as one of the six major sponsors of the campaign, is taking a prominent role in encouraging start-ups across Britain – and has even created a web-hub at its Business Insights website for small businesses.
As the country’s leading telecommunications provider, BT is in a unique position to offer technological help to start-ups including ways of saving time and money on business costs such as telephone lines and, of course, websites and online marketing.
The web-hub also has information on start-up loans available to small businesses – offering great rates without going through a high street bank. There are also competitions, including prize draws, for the chance to win cash prizes and details of other great BT start-ups offers.
BT Marketing Soutions is offering £150 off the set-up costs on selected website packages1. It's a great way for a new business to get a professionally designed, managed website as all the BT Marketing Solutions packages are put together with small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in mind.
StartUp Britain co-founder Emma Jones said: “We are delighted that BT Business has come on board to help us to continue our work to support and encourage start-up businesses and fuel British economic growth. We’re seeing record numbers of people becoming their own boss and long may it continue.
“BT’s commitment to do its bit for the British economy is a great example of big helping small – which is essential for the future economic health of the nation.
“We are looking forward to working with them over the coming year.”
