My role at BT is to conduct web reviews. The task is simple, but crucial: to find out if my client has an effective online presence.
When conducting a review, I’ll be asking questions like:
“How regularly are you updating your content?”
“What impression does the website create of your company?”
“Are the aesthetics appealing and impacting for prospective customers?”
“Is the particular website solution you’re using cost-effective, and does it meet the needs that your business has?”
These questions, and more, help to understand the situation my client is in, and move them to where they need to be to maximise their business online through BT. I try to discover where a client wants to improve and grow online – and then do the best I can to help them achieve that.
Thanks to the web reviews BT Website Solutions are conducting, our clients can increase their understanding of how to market online, and ensure their businesses are successful in the digital marketplace.
The review takes about 15 minutes and will help identify where your business is going wrong and how changes to your website can help. We offer free advice for your business and then talk about website solutions that BT offers to make sure your business is getting the most out of online marketing.
A BT web review is your starting point for an effective website. But in the meantime, here are 5 tips to maximise your online presence.
1. Content, content, content
Make sure that your website is up to date with fresh, meaningful, relevant content to your industry and business – at the moment few things are more important than this.
2. If looks could kill...
As many as 46% of consumers cancel plans to spend with a small business after finding a poor quality website. Make sure your site looks the part with a clean, professional design and appearance. And avoid self-build template packages – your site is bound to look the same as all the rest.
3. KISS
K.I.S.S. or “Keep it simple, stupid!” People don’t go to your website to read about your life, or educate themselves on any topic – they’re looking for a product or service. So keep to the point. Make sure there’s just enough to get that point across, but not so much that the reader is bored.
4. Ring, ring, ring, ring!
Your website isn’t always there to make sales (unless it’s an eCommerce site of course!). Have a professional design and tailor your site to drive telephone enquiries to your business and generate genuine leads.
